Speech and Language Therapists "I have been pleased with the progress noted for all of my clients on this sound programming. I have had improvements noted in every child. Every response has been individual in nature, but all have demonstrated improvement overall in processing. Parents have been pleased and children/students have noticed changes. One of the most remarkable changes we have seen in some of the children is becoming more verbal. It is really a neat experience to watch that child who struggles with expressing himself just start talking to everyone. They start greeting people, then are no longer stuck in the corner. I do want to say that I believe that the LiFT is the best on the market for addressing auditory/language issues. I have had training for other auditory programs, but after using all of these for several years, I think I get the most from the LiFT when it comes to improvements in auditory function and language. I truly agree with you that the feedback from the microphone use is what matters. Passive listening helps but doesn’t get to the feedback system that truly impacts and changes the brain over time. That is what I have seen and experienced since I started with the LiFT. This is where I recommend most of my patients to start when there are significant auditory issues impacting all of the processing going on in the brain. I also see benefits in other programs, but I see them as a refinement of what the LiFT does, not a replacement for it. I really like the LiFT and what I have seen it do for my clients." Priscilla Roberts, M.S., CCC-SLP - Certified LiFT Instructor, USA Working with LiFT has brought home to me the reality of multiple learning styles and how they manifest in adults, and…has put me in touch with my own repressed kinesthetic learning preferences. The application of this to ESL instruction has many ramifications. I have come to understand how the natural progression of first language learning is the most effective way of instructing, how conventional methods of instruction with adults are seriously lacking insofar as they exclude the most significant elements of L1 learning (emotional security…playfulness and experimentation, total involvement of all the senses, validation of experience). I have incorporated the principles of LiFT in my Saturday, Board of Education pronunciation class by allowing it to shape and influence my presentation of the ESL material I have worked with for 15 yrs. I have also begun to realize that the effects of stress connected to culture shock, which only diminshes very gradually over time, seriously interfere with language acquisition. The sound of English is not something that feeds and nourishes most ESL learners: it confronts and challenges them. This points me in the direction of stress reduction/listening workshops: “Besides development of self-confidence and self-expression in foreign language (first step) the program helped to get the sense of well-being, including ability to handle stressful situations, prioritorize different life aspects, take my time to think of a situation before being involved in it.” Student testimonial LiFT is an extrememly effective tool for hemispheric integration and the concomitant enhancement of the learning process, with the emphases on experiential learning….It can also serve as an effective tool for self-actualisation. As a companion to other modalities that have similar goals of bodymind integration…it appears to have a synergistic effect. Renia Tyminski, Ph.D Certified LiFT Instructor, Canada

Developmental Specialists After intense research on various forms of listening training methods, I came across the LIFT, and was immediately drawn to it. The LiFT’s ability to cause change in so many different areas in an intense and individualized manner brings our ability to service our clients to a whole new level. In addition, the portability of this device made it the perfect choice for my multidisciplinary practice, where our clients are serviced both in clinic and in home. I immediately made the decision to travel to Toronto to attend the next training that was just one week away! The Listening Fitness Training was no disappointment. I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to receive training from Paul Madaule himself, and Morana Petrofski whose knowledge of the LIFT and it’s impact on young children was so extensive. I found myself feeling incredibly inspired and excited as I learned about the LIFT and all of the benefits that could be received from it. The workshop included ample opportunity for discussion and opportunities to personally experience the benefits of the LIFT. When I returned to my practice, I was again not disappointed. All of the benefits that Paul and Morana spoke of so confidently during our course were realized in each one of my clients. I have worked with children with various challenges including ADHD, Dyslexia, Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism, Down Syndrome, and Sensory Motor concerns, just to name a few. ALL of these children showed profound changes from the LIFT. Every family that I have worked with has been so grateful for the experience and the benefits that they have received from this amazing method. Morana and Kate Bromley from Listening Technologies continue to support me with all of my Listening Training and equipment questions, even now that my LIFT Certification requirements are complete. The Listening Centre has backed their system unconditionally, and the result is that I feel very confident in administering the LIFT. I would recommend the LIFT to any family who has a child dealing with challenges. I would also recommend the LIFT training course to any professional who is interested giving their clients nothing less than the best. Janis Bautz, M.A.- Certified LiFT Instructor, USA
The Listening Fitness Program provides the opportunity for children to remediate listening difficulties in extraordinary ways. I have witnessed amazing developmental changes as I have incorporated LiFT with Neuro-Developmental remediation. Because the LiFT program is based on the developmental progress of the auditory system, it allows changes to be incorporated into the overall development of the central nervous system, and stability results. I have found that most children who have Neuro-Developmental Delay also show auditory delay, and so the LiFT program usually becomes part of the overall program in my practice. These children tend to require more than the typical 60-hour program; however, I have also observed that given extra hours, such as in a boost session, the changes are permanent and growth continues. Some children begin to stabilize within their vestibular system, and are less prone to hyperactivity; some are less overloaded with sound input, some are better able to discriminate between sounds and so reading and spelling improve. For those who need to settle ear dominance to the right ear, once this has occurred, I have observed that overall laterality begins to stabilize. Speech tells us how a person listens, and so as the LiFT feedback system is introduced and the children incorporate their own voices through the microphone, I observe tone of voice changes, pitch changes, volume changes, and articulation changes (articulation and vocabulary improvements have been quite amazing). Verb tense usages in writing have been observed as well. As a result, communication skills, oral reading and vocabulary usage improve. Parents tell me they notice happier, calmer, more confident children. Several children I work with have experienced other listening programs without success; yet when I implemented the LiFT program at a certain phase in the Neuro-Developmental remediation program, success was achieved. It is the only Listening program I use because I believe the developmental progression of the program is the key, along with the feedback system implemented through use of the microphone.
